Βασικές Ιδιότητες: αντιδιαβητική, θερμαντική, τονωτικό της κυκλοφορίας του αίματος, αντιπυρετικό, αντισπασμωδικό, αντιφλεγμονώδες, ορεκτικό και χωνευτικό, αντιμηκυτιακό
Χρήσεις
θεραπευτική: για Διαβήτη (μπορεί να αυξήσει την δράση της ινσουλίνης), στοματική καντιντίαση (άφθες), υπέρταση, αρθρίτιδα
μαγειρική: Βασικό συστατικό για τη ζαχαροπλαστική. Ταιριάζει σε κρέμες, γλυκά με μέλι ή με ξηρούς καρπούς, μπισκότα κανέλας. Συναντάται πολύ συχνά στην ανατολίτικη κουζίνα σε πικάντικα πιάτα με κρέας.
Πως χρησιμοποιείται:
ο φλοιός (ξυλάκι) ως αψέψημα ή 2-4 γρ. σκόνης την ημέρα (μισό με 3/4 από κουταλάκι του γλυκού) στο φαγητό μας ή προσθέτουμε σε ρόφημα.
Ιδιαίτερες προφυλάξεις:
Άτομα που δεν έχουν εξοικειωθεί με την χρήση της θα πρέπει να χρησιμοποιούν εσωτερικά μόνο μικρές ποσότητες.
