Θεραπευτική χρήση:
Για κράμπες στο στομάχι και για το φούσκωμα, ως τονωτικό της όρεξης, για ατονία, πονοκέφαλο, κρυολόγημα, υπερκόπωση, γενική εξάντληση, κατάθλιψη, η αντιοξειδωτική του ιδιότητα έχει πιθανόν αντικαρκινική δράση. Το αιθέριο έλαιο του βελτιώνει την ποιότητα μνήμης, την ικανότητα συγκέντρωσης αλλά και την ψυχική διάθεση. Με πλύσιμο των μαλλιών βοηθάει στην αντιμετωπίση της τριχόπτωσης.
Μαγειρική χρήση:
Παραδοσιακά συνδυάζεται τέλεια με το ψητό αρνί. Δίνει άρωμα στα σαλιγκάρια, τις ψητές πατάτες, τις σαλάτες και τις σάλτσες. Αρωματίζει λάδια και ξύδια.
Πως χρησιμοποιείται:
Τα φύλλα ως έγχυμα: 1 κουταλάκι του γλυκού αποξηραμένα φύλλα σε 1 κούπα βρασμένο νερό για 10-15′. Πίνουμε 2-3 φορές την ημέρα.
Ιδιαίτερες προφυλάξεις:
Να αποφεύγεται η χρήση του κατά την διάρκεια της εγκυμοσύνης. Να μην χρησιμοποιείται παρατεταμένα.
