Το φυτό αυτό έχει την δυνατότητα να πέφτει σε κατάσταση νάρκης μαζεύοντας το φύλλωμά του σε ένα είδος μπάλας, σε κατάσταση ανυδρίας.
Όταν τοποθετηθεί σε λίγο νερό το φύλλωμά ενυδατώνεται ξανά και το φυτό ξαναζωντανεύει και ανοίγει πάλι το φύλλωμά του.
Για αυτήν του την ιδιότητα, το φυτό αυτό ονομάζεται και φυτό της Ανάστασης.

Πως χρησιμοποιείται:΄
τα φύλλα ως αφέψημα: Σιγοβράζουμε ένα κουταλάκι του γλυκού ξηρό Σκορπιδόχορτο για 5-10′ σε ένα φλιζάνι νερό. Πίνουμε έως 2-3 φορές την ημέρα.
για προβλήματα του ουροποιητικού συνδυάζεται καλά με το Εκουιζέτο (Πολυκόμπι)
